Zitron is the largest Spanish manufacturer of mining and tunneling ventilation fans. Located at large manufacturing premises in Porceyo, Gijon, on the Cantabrican coast, the company was founded in 1963. It holds an ISO 9001 quality certificate covering the design, manufacturing, assembly and commissioning of tunnel fans and complete ventilation systems.
Zitron have been awarded some of the most important ventilation system for tunnels, metros & hydro electric power projects around the world.
The main product lines are auxiliary ventilation fans for tunnel construction, jet fans for operating tunnels, and emergency ventilation fans. On all models, the fan housings are made of rolled steel sheet, with flanges to fit the silencers, and interior consoles to mount the motor. Zitron is having the biggest underground tunnel fan testing facility in the world.
Zitron fans are in use in many countries of the world. In Spain, over 170 emergency ventilation fans have been delivered to Madrid Metro and 26 to Valencia Metro. Another eight are installed at Lisbon Metro. Other Zitron systems have been delivered to Argentina, Bhutan, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, France, Greece, India, Iran, Madeira, Pakistan, Peru and Turkey & UAE.
The Zitron reference list for jet fans in tunnels is long, and includes the M-40 ring road in Madrid, the 4 km-long El Negron highway tunnel, the Lisbon ring road, and the Mumbai-Pune Expressway in India , Airport tunnel Dubai , 7th Crossing Dubai and many more around the world.
